Step 1: Initial Consultation 🐾

All private training begins with an in-depth consultation where we assess your dog, your household, and your training goals.

Tell us the common days/times you are available to schedule and if you want the session at your home (if you live in the FM area) or our training studio. 

Because training needs vary, we offer two pricing categories:

Basic Manners Training 🦴

For puppies and dogs needing help with:

  •  

    • Jumping on people

    • Pulling on leash

    • Calm behaviors and foundations (sit, stay, down, etc.)

Anxiety & Aggression Training ⚠️

For more complex behavior challenges, including (but not limited to):

    • Separation anxiety

    • Barking, lunging, or reactivity toward people or dogs

    • Conflict between dogs in the same household

    • Resource guarding (food, toys, space, etc.)

    • Fearful or over-reactive behavior at the vet or groomer

These examples are not exhaustive but give a general idea of what falls under the Anxiety & Aggression category.

What to Expect During Your Consultation 👩‍🏫🐶

    • ⏱️ 60–75 minute session

    • 📝 Review of your dog’s history, challenges, and goals

    • 🐕 Hands-on training exercises to get you started right away

    • 🤝 Coaching focused on you, the dog’s guardian, so you can confidently apply the skills at home

After your consultation, you’ll receive a follow-up email to check in on progress and provide supplemental tips, resources, or videos as needed.

Payment & Policies 💳

    • 🔒 50% deposit required at booking

    • 💵 3% service fee applies to card, Venmo, or PayPal payments

    • 📅 Please provide 48 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule to avoid being charged the full session fee

Step 2: Ongoing Training Program 🎯

The number and pace of private sessions depend on:

    • 🐾 Your training goals

    • 🧠 Your dog’s individual needs

    • ⏰ The amount of time you can commit to practice

After the initial consult, we schedule follow-up sessions in your home or at our Fargo studio.

Purchasing a package of lessons offers a discount and helps maintain training momentum.
All packages are valid for one year from purchase.

📦 6 lessons → $30 off

Trainer-Only Sessions (Day Training Option (1 hour session) 🐕‍🦺

Life gets busy — we get it. This option allows the trainer to work with your dog while you’re at work or away.

How it works 🛠️

    • 📦 Packages only (no single sessions)

    • 📝 Initial consultation: 60–75 minutes (with you present)

    • ⏱️ Follow-up sessions: 60 minutes with trainer only

    • 📸 After each session, you receive:
        • A written progress report

        • Videos of your dog working with the trainer

    • 🎓 A final session is scheduled with you to show how to maintain the progress

Pricing for these packages is the same as private lesson packages.

    • 🗓️ Sessions available Monday–Saturday

    • ⭐ Evening and Saturday appointments book quickly

    • 📍 Training can occur:
        • In your home

        • At Down Dog Studio

        • In community or public settings when appropriate

    • 🚗 In-home sessions within 15 minutes of the FM area included

    • ➕ Additional travel fees apply outside this radius
